About us

Expertise

I have personally inspected over 5000 homes since 1992. I am a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors and all of my inspections exceed the standards of practice of ASHI®. I am a full time Home Inspector. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a technical degree I built homes in central Illinois. After relocating to Colorado in 1980 I worked for two manufacturers of building products including the Masonite Corporation. During that time, I worked closely with large and small builders as well as architects, engineers, and code agencies in order to insure the correct usage and application of building materials.

Expectations

It is my opinion that home inspection is an educational experience. I strongly encourage the home buyer to attend and take part in the inspection process. I will provide you with information that could save you aggravation, time, and many dollars over the years. I encourage you ask any questions you may have regarding your home’s operation. In the event you are unable to attend the inspection the narrative report with digital photographs will be emailed to you the day of the inspection. The narrative style of report coupled with photographs will give you a great snapshot of the condition of your new home at the time of the inspection and allow you to make an informed decision regarding any objections or concerns you may have regarding your home.

Professional Ethics

Murphy Home Inspections is dedicated to providing you a high quality inspection. We do not offer any compensation to third parties for referrals. We adhere to the strictest of ethics as established by the American Society of Home Inspectors. You will always receive the most objective opinion regarding the condition of the home you are buying. My reports will never be influenced by any real estate agent, that is my pledge to you, my client.
